Simon Greaves Portrait
Simon Greaves (Founder)

Simon brings 18 years of specialist technology search experience focussed in semiconductors and related technology areas. Having completed many high level projects in USA, Asia and Europe, his experience gives access to a broad global network within these market sectors. More recently Simon's focus has been in the sensor, IoT and connected / smart technology sectors between Asia and the US.

Prior to co-founding Faraday Search in 2008 he founded The IC Partnership, (ICP Search), in 2001 and grew ICP to one of Europe's leading technology recruitment companies on the main principle of "delivering what the customer wants". ICP Search was sold in April 2008. Prior to ICP, Simon spent several years at PSD's Electronics Division as one of the company's highest semiconductor fee generator.

Before engaging in electronics recruitment Simon spent 6 years in the Royal Air Force flying on the maritime reconnaissance platform Nimrod MR2 as Air Electronics Aircrew, operating highly complex electronic warfare equipment.

John started his executive search career in the electronics industry in 1998.

With 10 years recruiting in the European market followed by 8 years based from Singapore focusing across Asia Pacific, he has built extensive client, and candidate networks within both regions. John has successfully and repeatedly executed a significant number of senior level search assignments across many disciplines. Prior to founding Faraday Search, John set up an office in Singapore for a UK based technology Search Company and built a team focusing in the semiconductor industry across the APAC region. Before moving to Singapore he worked for several search companies including the PSD Group. After graduating in 1991 from Queen Mary University of London with an Honours Degree, John spent five years working in Africa, and Europe.

William is a China national, fluent in English, with a degree in Electronics, and Masters degree in Project Management. He has 5 years recruitment experience in the electronics and automotive industry focusing across China. He has a fantastic track record of completing retained assignments for both local and international companies. Before moving into the recruitment industry William started his career at NEC Electrics Huahong in semiconductor manufacturing involved in equipment selection, quality control and project management.

With a technical background and industry experience he is a valuable asset to the Faraday team, and will be responsible for leading and driving the growth of our business in China.

Robin has 8 years Executive Search experience with a focus in Semiconductor, Sensors, MEMS, IoT and the wider Electronics industry.

Robin, who is fluent in Japanese and his native Mandarin, serves clients across Greater China, Japan, Korea and SE Asia. He has developed extensive, senior level networks within Japanese companies and is very much a trusted partner to his clients. Robin has a great understanding of the electronics industry ecosystem built up from years of both consulting and working in this sector. His diligent and thorough work ethic combined with this experience, assure his clients they are working with a true recruitment professional who speaks their language. Robin has a degree in Business Administration and Japanese from University of Dalian.

Alex Baker

Alex is an independent international technology recruiter, with a strong engineering background of more than 25 years of technology market experience, including nearly 20 years in semiconductor field applications engineering and management in Europe, Asia and Japan.

With the experience of an international hiring manager, he is well positioned to understand clients' needs in depth, and so to match the right person to the role. He has successfully filled roles from C-level to engineering staff, across the range of front- and back-office functions. In addition to recruiting, he also runs semiconductor IP sales and business skills mentoring businesses, so maintains a wide network of contacts. He has been living and working in Asia since 2000 and in Japan since 2006.
